      Saturday 19th May
        2001
The Caterham Schools Chess Jamboree was held at Whyteleafe
School on Saturday 19th May. Teams of 4 players competed for a primary
school and a separate secondary school cup. Whilst Notre Dame A won all
their matches, Whyteleafe A had a higher total game score. Thus the primary
school champions scored more than the secondary school champions. For

      "Caterham Harestone Rotary Club president
Terry Servant is left open mouthed at a cheeky checkmate by eight year
old Joshua Cooper of Warlingham. Joshua was taking part in the Caterham
Schools' Chess Jamboree at Whyteleafe School - the Rotary Club supported
the event by providing a chess set and board for each competing school."
